He was predeceased by: his father Michael Merle; his wife Mary Bekiarian; and his brothers, Frank, Bob and Artie.
He is survived by: his daughters, Beverly (Leonard Betz), Connie (Salvatore SanPhilip) and Phyllis (Larry Wnek); his brothers, Joseph Merle of Lyndhurst, NJ, Michael Merle of North Arlington, NJ and Edward Merle of Parsippany, NJ; his grandchildren, Brian Betz, Michelle Betz, Suzanne Addabbo, Michael Sanphilip, Samantha Wnek, Alyssa Paxson and Joseph Sanphilip; and his great grandchildren, Bria, Eliska, Lillie, Julian, Rosalie, Emersyn, Miles, Peter, Michael and Mateo.
