He was predeceased by: his parents, Gennaro DeVito and Mae DeVito (Sommese); his son Gerard DeVito; his parents-in-law, Vito Grasso and Mary Grasso (Nappi); his brother-in-law Emidio Lonero (Chic); and his niece Sally Ann Salvatoriello.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann DeVito (Grasso); his children, Salvatore DeVito, Jr. (Denise), Victor DeVito (Laura) and Margaret Ann Mandato (Carmine); his grandchildren, Salvatore III, Deanna, Samantha, Matthew, Victoria and Dominic; his sister Genevieve Lonero; and his cousin Edmund Bimbo (Eddie). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made by planting a tree in Sal's honor, celebrating his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
