She was predeceased by: her parents, Elva Holmes and Eddie Lewis; her husband Otis Leon Stephens; and her child Wardell. She is survived by: her child Lavern of Woodbine; her stepchildren, Rose Mary Stephens Jackson of Ewing and Jean Lorraine Stephens Hollingshead of Ewing; her sons, Timothy Matthew Hughes of Trenton and James Hughes Jr. of Ewing; and her grandchildren, Tiffany, Bobby, Matthew, Jason, Nakinya, Tashia, James, Jairon and Jaiden. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Friendship Baptist Church (111 Perry St, Trenton, NJ 08618). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
