He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Helmuth and Agnes Helmuth (late Helen "Joan" Helmuth); his son Don Cowell; and his son-in-law Michael Panariello. He is survived by: his siblings, Raymond, John, Frank, Edward, Michael, Mamie Smith, Katie Dale, Agnes Young, Sadie Chianese and Edna Mae Gonzalez; his children, Marcy Helmuth (Holly Panariello) of Hamilton and Phillip Cowell; his daughters-in-law, Patricia of Hamilton and Aimee Cowell of Covington, LA; his grandchildren, Chad, Tammi, Blake (Kristen), Lane, Sarah, Natalie, Logan, Raymond and Lilyana; his great grandchildren, Abbie, Oakley and River; and his sisters, Ruth Dyalla of Perry, OH and Eleanor Schneider of Trenton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Knott's Colonial Funeral Home (2946 S Broad St, Hamilton Township, NJ 08610). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the BGWCD Veterans Cemetery (350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562).
