He was predeceased by : his parents, Aguido Rivera and Maria Aviles; and his siblings, William Rivera Aviles and Olga Rivera Aviles. He is survived by : his wife Milagros Rivera (Cruz); his children, Marilyn Rivera, Omayra Ortiz, Maritza Rivera and Raymond Rivera; his stepchildren, Margarita Pagan, Rosa Pagan and Yeida Castellano; his grandchildren, Analeah Rivera, Karina Vargas, Brandon Ortiz, Simone Cavanaugh, Marilyn Cristiano, Destiny Rodriguez, Venus Silva, Vanessa Rivera, Abigail Rivera, Aristides Rivera Jr., Joel Vera, Jonathan Vera and Baldomero Vera; and his siblings, Manuel Rivera Aviles, Judith Rivera Aviles, Miriam Rivera Aviles, Norma Rivera Aviles and Maria Emilia Rivera Aviles.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption Church (151 N Warren St, Trenton, NJ 08608). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery (1200 Cedar Ln, Trenton, NJ 08610).
