He was predeceased by: his father Clyde Hopkins. He is survived by: his mother Betty Ellis-James; his siblings, Elijah James, Keyana James, Jennette Jones, Joann Hopkins and Jan Edwards; his siblings' children, Kiera Oquendo, Reggie James and Edgar Oquendo; his godsons, Donovan and Daryl Williams; his aunt Mary L. Ellis; and his cousins, Ron, Roz and Matt of Alabama.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Macedonia Baptist Church (1300 Greenwood Ave, Trenton, NJ 08618). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
