We announce the death of Candido Patricio Quinones D. (Union, New Jersey), who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 87. Candido will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldemira Quiñones and Lisandro Quiñones; his brother Guillermo Quiñones; and his sister-in-law Eliana Quiñones Puig. He is survived by: his wife Ramona Zunilda Quiñones; his children, Patricio Antonio Quiñones and Zunilda Elizabeth Benjamin; his grandchildren, Preston Mark Benjamin, Sophia Elizabeth Benjamin and Alexa Ehrenreich; his brother Frank Quiñones; and his sister-in-law Margarita Quiñones. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Galante Funeral Home-Union (2800 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083). A Mass was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James Church (45 S Springfield Ave, Springfield, NJ 07081). A burial was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Fairview Cemetery (1100 E Broad St, Westfield, NJ 07090).
He was respected by colleagues and recognized for his contributions to medicine and education, but his impact extended well beyond professional titles.
