Doralee Garfinkel Obituary

Doralee (Kaminsky) Garfinkel passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2023. She is survived by her beloved husband Lawrence of 70 years, her children Steven (Michelle) of Weston, MA, and Laura of Summit, NJ, and her brother Herschel (Margrit) Kaminsky. Doralee was born on December 20, 1932 in New Haven CT to Phillip and Annette (Stine) Kaminsky. Doralee's two other children, sons Peter (Sheri) and David, predeceased her.

She is also survived by her amazing and dearly loved grandchildren Aaron (Katy), Erica, Pamela, Elizabeth (Bryan), Lindsay, Brendan, Matthew, Justin and great grandson Enzo. We remember Doralee for her goodness of spirit, kindness, compassion and consideration for all. She was truly a good friend to all.

She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doralee's memory to the David Garfinkel Fund, c/o Summit Free Public Library, 75 Maple Street, Summit, New Jersey 07901.

“In loving memory of Doralee Garfinkel, Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. I used to lived on Oak Ridge Ave, two houses away from Doralee. We both went to the same yoga class at the Connection. She always walked and then uphill on the way back. I admired her for that. She was a cheerful person and fun to talk to.”
