He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kathleen Ramos; his children, Pamela Cartaya and Shawn Ramos (Lauren); his grandchildren, Corrina Cartaya, Louis Cartaya and Benjamin Ramos; and his sister Beulah Dale (Ken). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
