She was predeceased by: her father William "Bill" Makela; and her stepfather Marley Kendall. She is survived by: her husband John Coan; her mother Frances Kendall; and her stepsiblings, Marley Kendall Jr. and Marlene Kendall Nagengast. She is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family.
