The memory of Richard Thompson of Vernon, New Jersey, who passed away on September 26, 2025 at the age of 80, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. As we bid adieu to Richard's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Richard has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Thompson and Edna Thompson (Scocco); his wife Lillian R. Thompson; and his son Scott Patrick Thompson. He is survived by: his son Richard P. Thompson II (Brandy) of Vernon; his grandchildren, Allison, Hannah Thompson and Katrina Weller (Dalton); and his sister Carolyn Protin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ferguson - Vernon Funeral Home (241 NJ-94, Vernon Township, NJ 07462). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Madonna Cemetery (2070 Hoefleys Ln, Fort Lee, NJ 07024).
