He was predeceased by : his parents, James Simpson and Maryon Simpson; his sister Valerie Simpson (Judith Smith); and his wife Margaret Simpson. He is survived by : his son James Simpson; his daughter-in-law Suzanne Simpson; his grandchildren, Cassidy and Callum Simpson; and his nephew Gregory Smith.
