He was predeceased by: his mother Elsie Lesser (Roettgen); his wife Hilde Leeser (Moses); his father Julius Leeser; and his brother Ralph Leeser. He is survived by: his daughters, Vivian Lindsay-McKeon (Jim) of Vineland and Carol Fretz (Scott); his grandsons, Tim Lindsay (Devonn), Mark Lindsay, Richard Fretz (Chayoung) of Miami and Bryan Fretz of Orlando; his great grandchildren, Sloane Lindsay and Savannah Lindsay; and his son-in-law James.

He became a full time care giver for Hilde when Parkinson disease was diagnosed.
