He is survived by: his close friend Joy Carter; his sister Frances Pratt (Alex Adams); his stepchildren, DeAnn Carter (Leon) and James Carter; his niece Denise Thompson; and his nephews, Vincent Thompson, Anthony Thompson and Ryan Stewart. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
