He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Cannon and Nora Cannon; and his brother John. He is survived by: his wife MaryAnn; his siblings, Frank (Sharon) and Margaret; his children, JoAnn Cort (Mike), Jacqui Bethanis (John) and Joseph; his grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Dan, Joe, Emily, Dana and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Danny and Shay.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home - Barnegat (335 S Main St, Barnegat, NJ 08005). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (747 W Bay Ave, Barnegat, NJ 08005). An entombment was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Parish Cemetery (283 Beachview Ave, Manahawkin, NJ 08050).
