He is survived by: his wife Mary Jeanne Smith; his children, Peter R. Smith (Natalie Knox-Hall) and Amy Symanski; his son-in-law Christopher Symanski; his son Craig Smith; his daughter-in-law Samantha Smith; his siblings, Jeffrey Smith and Gail Conetta (Louis Conetta); his nieces and nephews, Lesile Cardieri, Tony Conetta, Vincent Conetta and Ronald Mirante (Virginia Mirante); and his great-nephew Noah Mirante.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home (803 Raritan Rd, Clark, NJ 07066). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Helen's RC Church (1600 Rahway Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090). A burial will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Graceland Memorial Park (1900 Galloping Hill Rd, Kenilworth, NJ 07033).
