He was predeceased by : his parents, Eunice Pickerell (Taylor) and Francis Pickerell; his son Dennis; and his siblings, Anna Suzie Kitt and Frank Pickerell.

He is survived by : his wife A. Elaine Pickerell (Helriegel); his son Paul E. Pickerell; his grandchildren, P. J. Pickerell (Holly), Christina (Patrick Keenan), Amanda (Jorgie Fis), Jessica Pickerell and Kyle Pickerell (Kelly); and his great grandchildren, Matthew, Lilly, Conor and Quinn.
