We announce the death of Bonifacio Silva of Washington, New Jersey, who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 68. Bonifacio will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maximiano Jorge and Maria of Piedade; his wife Maria Fernandes Silva; his children, David Lagoa Silva (Elizabeth) and Nina Marie Silva Ribeiro (Danny); his brother Gilberto Silva (Linda); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Alexander, Benjamin David, Olivia Noelle, Noah Matthew and Abigail Sherry. He was also cherished by relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the Buyus Funeral Home (426 Lafayette St, Newark, NJ 07105). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (82 Congress St, Newark, NJ 07105).
