He was predeceased by : his wife Marlene B. Johnson; his parents, Catherine A. Johnson and John G. Johnson; and his siblings, John A. Johnson, Harry Johnson, Kathleen Ann Pearson, Rose Clawson and Beatrice Fox Daley.

He is survived by : his son Edward R. Johnson Jr. (Robbin Lee); his nephews, James Fox, Ronald Pearson, Clark Fox Jr. and Billy Clawson; and his niece Karen Pearson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
