She is survived by: her children, Deborah Dobie (Doug), Margaret Hughes (Frank), Kristine Ciampi (Steve), John Burdorf, Jr. (Melissa), Elizabeth Muffuletto (Michael) and Tara Ryan (Chris); her close friend Dennis J. Donovan; her brother Louis K. Schwarz, III (Vicki); and her sister-in-law Dorothy Schwarz.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and may be made in Katie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
