Augusto Messercola Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Augusto Messercola of Watchung, New Jersey, who passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Antonietta "DeCarolis" Messercola; his parents, Bernardo and Filomena; and his siblings, Tonino, Rocco, Fernando and Maria.
He is survived by: his son Bernardo Messercola (Fabiana); his grandchildren, Marco, Arianna, Stefanie (Matthew) and Gino (Christie); his great grandchildren, Luca, Liviana and Capri; his grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth), Jenna (Connor Vanderhoof) and Lauren; his brother Delio Messercola (Celestina); and his sisters-in-law, Ana, Guisippina, Eufrasia and Luigia (Gina). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Higgins Home For Funerals (752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ 07069). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Higgins Home for Funerals (752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ 07069). A Mass was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Stony Hill Church (225 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ 07069). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery (225 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ 07069).
