“Jerome "Jerry" Pasek was a legend in the Garfield Public School System. For 55 years he worked as a teacher and guidance counselor before his retirement. He was a very bright, even-tempered man who served as an island of calm for stressed-out students and teachers. He would listen sympathetically and then offer clear-eyed advice. He kept photos of his loved ones on his desk, and spoke proudly of their accomplishments and kindnesses to him. Jerry will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.”
