William Buntzen Obituary
William J. Buntzen, a lifelong resident of Wayne, passed March 18, 2023. William was born July 10, 1954 in Paterson NJ. William graduated Wayne Valley High School in 1972. He worked many jobs after high school including the Paterson Box Lunch, Schulte's Florist, Ruth's Flower Basket and for the past twenty-three years with Semeraro Construction as Accounts Payable Administrator in Wayne NJ. William was an avid sports fan who rooted for his Cubbies, Raiders, and Lakers. William enjoyed classic Rock and Roll but the volume increased when The Rolling Stones and Traffic were played.
William was predeceased by his parents George U. Buntzen and Anne (Reed) Buntzen. He is survived by his siblings George (Debby), Robert (Christopher), Richard (Donald), Leslie (Ron), James (Sue) and Michael, nephews Kristian (Amy), Peter (Michelle), Brian (Lindsay), Jonathan (Lori), Carlin and George, niece Jisoo Seo, grandnieces Kaeli and Bella and grandnephews Devin, Griffin Mattingly, Brody, Harrison, Sam, John, and Nikolas. Although William had no children of his own, he was Godfather to Khristan Buntzen, Stacy Reed, Jake Reed, Alex Severson, Victoria Huff, Carlin Buntzen, and George Buntzen.
There are too many cousins, friends, and neighbors to name but were dear to his heart. Bill was lovingly part of the Tosch Avenue Reed family including his life long best friend William John Reed who carries the same first and middle name born 21 days apart. Also, very special to Bill were his neighbors for more than thirty years, Tony and Edie Schiavo.
William has been called to heaven by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to join the eternal party.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne.
