She was predeceased by: her parents, William Johannemann and Margaret Johannemann; her husband John T. Apel; her sons, John and Chris; and her brother Robert Johannemann.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Stewart (Neil Keegstra) of Hamburg, NJ, David Apel (Audra Avizienis) of Hastings and Susan Milner (Ralf) of Vernon, NJ.; and her daughters-in-law, Sonia Parra-Apel of Toms River, NJ and Lorrie Apel of Ocean Grove, NJ.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in Marlene's memory to Alzheimer's New Jersey, to support care, resources, and research for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's and dementia across New Jersey.
