He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Zerihun and Abebetch Mekonnen; his wife Netsanet Dessalegn; and his children, Yohannes Brook and Hannah Brook. He was also cherished by his parents, wife, and children, along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Amanuel Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (15 Dean St, West Orange, NJ 07052). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
