He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jane Burns of Long Island. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Jane Bernhard, Marianne K. Burns and John F. Burns (Elaine); his grandchildren, Megan Jane and Daniel John; and his brothers, Dr. William Burns (Eleanor) and Dr. Patrick Burns (Marge).
