Florence McGuffin Obituary

We announce the death of Florence McGuffin of Westfield, New Jersey, who passed away on July 13, 2026, at the age of 99. Florence will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Paterek and Stephanie Paterek (Drozdowski); her former husband Frank Chmiel; her husband Frank McGuffin; her son Kenneth "Kenny" Chmiel (MaryAnn); and her siblings, Jean Nesbitt, Peter "Pete" Paterek and Chester "Red" Paterek.

She is survived by: her daughters, Janice Chmiel and Elaine Keohane (Chmiel); her son-in-law Arild; her grandsons, Frank Chmiel (Veronica) and Ryan Keohane; her grandchild-in-law Shannon; and her great grandchildren, Jackie, Alana, Camryn, Riley, Kenny, Harper, Stella and Jake. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
