He is survived by: his brother Frank Checchio Jr.; his children, John Checchio and Cindy Mastrocola; his grandchildren, Michael Checchio (Caitlin), Brian Checchio (Yi), Anthony Mastrocola, Emily Stabner (JP) and Sarah Mastrocola; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Checchio, Delaney Checchio and Lucas Checchio.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (315 1st St, Westfield, NJ 07090).
