He was predeceased by: his parents, Susana Monroig and Candidad "Tula" Monroig Beltran (Domingo "Mingo" Serrano). He is survived by: his wife Carmen Serrano; his children, Edgardo Serrano Jr. (Jesslyn Lorenzo) and Erica Serrano (Hugo Lima); and his brother Miguel Serrano.

Viewing was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home (419 Barclay St, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861). He was employed by ITW COVID for 42 years and retired in 2023.
