She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Frederick P. Watts and Louise Armstead Watts; her husband William F. Payton, Sr.; her son William F. Payton, Jr.; and her sister Harriet Houston.

She is survived by: her sons, Stephen F. Payton (Francine Dennis-Payton) and Dr. Frederick V. Payton (Ramona Payton); and her sisters, Freda Oasin and Doris Watts. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home (212 Veterans Pkwy, Willingboro, NJ 08046). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Corpus Chrisiti R. C. Church (11 S Sunset Rd, Willingboro, NJ 08046). A burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Odd Fellows Cemetery (4527 US-130, Burlington, NJ 08016).
