She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Kowal and Michael Kowal; her husband William Joseph Smith; and her siblings, Anna Kowal, Valerie Zgorzynski, Mary Carr, Frances Kowal, Peter Kowal, Paul Kowal and Benjamin Kowal.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Smith of Helmetta, Linda Szatkowski of Helmetta and William Smith (Patricia) of Old Bridge; her sister Dorothy Kowal of North Arlington; her grandchildren, William Michael Smith (Alana) and Samantha Dreboty (Darren) of San Diego, CA; her great grandchildren, Delilah and Phoebe; and her caregiver Lela.
