It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William A. Schaefer of Woodbridge, New Jersey, who passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though William may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Schaefer and William Schaefer; his wife Rose Marie Sisko Schaefer; his son Scott William Schaefer; and his sister Margaret McMillan.
He is survived by: his daughter Sheryl Anne Takacs (Tom) of Milford; his granddaughter Emma Rose Schaefer of South Amboy; and his siblings, Marilyn Mazur, Lois Crooks of Florida and John Schaefer of Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami FL, 33131 in Mr. Schaefer's memory would be deeply appreciated by his family.
