He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Edward and Marion J. Coneeny (Tallon); and his brother Francis J. Coneeny. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughters, Christine Coneeny and Cheryl Coneeny-Wright (Anthony); his grandchildren, Ashley Pelura-Bennett (Ryan) and Taylor Graham; and his great grandchildren, Dylan Rose Bennett and Tyler Ashley Bennett.
In recognition of his outstanding athletic achievements and contributions to the community, he was inducted into the Penns Grove High School Hall of Fame in 2002.
