Alessio G. Mendicino Obituary
Alessio G. Mendicino, 89, of Wrightstown, NJ, passed away at home on Sunday, August 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Falerna, Italy, he came to New Jesey with his mother by ship after waiting thirteen years to be reunited with his father.
Alessio was extremely proud of the engineering education he received when he went to school for Drafting in New York. After he completed his education, Alessio partnered with his father, William, to form William Mendicino and Son Construction. For Alessio, his job was his greatest passion. However, in his spare time he enjoyed working in his garden or going hunting.
Predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth Mendicino; his first wife, Dolores Rose Mendicino; and his daughter, Elizabeth Mendicino; he is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Carol Mendicino; his children, Rosalee and Keith Davis of Suwanee, GA, William and Cheryl Mendicino of Flemington, NJ, and Anthony and Cheryl Mendicino of Chesterfield, NJ; his stepchildren, William and Stephanie McElhaney and Kim and Roger Leip; his grandchildren, William, Katrina, Elizabeth, Alessia, Anthony, Kelly, Linda, Robert, Christopher, Michael, and William; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Corbin, Cheyanne, Chaislyn, Beckett, Nora, and Avery; his siblings, Anthony and Patricia Mendicino of Manville, NJ, Joseph and Joni Mendicino of Warwick, RI, and Rosemary and William Blazi of Colorado Springs, CO; his very close friend and brother-in-law, Henry "Hanx" Hillman; and his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 555 Yardville Allentown Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08620.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manville, NJ.
