She is survived by : her children, Sharon Czarnecki of Toms River, NJ, Richard Firstmeyer of Clifton, NJ, Kathy Firstmeyer-Rejent of Ringwood, NJ, Walter Firstmeyer of Lake Worth, FL and MaryBeth Firstmeyer-Interlandi of Boca Raton, FL.; and her grandchildren, Colleen, Michele, Lisa, Peter, Janice, Kevin, Brian, Geoffrey, Courtney, Christopher and Adam. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, family asks donations be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Home Care and Hospice.

Mary Conerty wrote a sympathy message

“I was very saddened by Aunt Ruth’s passing. She was a wonderful person and loved to laugh. We were very close the past 11 or so years. We would talk on the phone for hours almost nightly. She was very concerned with her appearance and loved to get her hair done. She also loved to shop. I miss our long talks late at night. Sometimes we would reminisce about the “good old days.” I loved to hear her talk of her family, which included my father. Rest In Peace Aunt Ruth. Love, Mary Lee”
