James Abma Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of James Abma of Wyckoff, New Jersey is shared. James, born on October 14, 1938, passed away on September 21, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Abma to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Abma and Anna Abma (Vanderzee); his son James Alan Abma, Sr.; his brothers, Frederick, Samuel and William Abma; and his in-laws, Siebern Spoelstra and Elizabeth Riether Spoelstra Steen.
He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy"; his daughters, Beth (Ralph Fylstra) of Allendale, NJ, Jodie (John Woudenberg) of Whitinsville, MA and Kimberly (Richard Sytsema) of Sussex, NJ; his brother Henry Abma (Dorothy) of East Troy, PA; and his brother-in-law Roger Spoelstra (Jayne) of Pompton Lakes, NJ.. He is also survived by family grew to include 16 grandchildren, plus their spouses, and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church (183 Godwin Ave, Midland Park, NJ 07432).
