He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Abma and Judy Abma of Wyckoff, NJ; his wife Pamela; his children, James Alan Jr. (Anna) of Hillsborough, NJ, Joshua (Valerie) of Wyckoff, NJ and Joy (Daniel Charnesky) of Franklin Lakes, NJ; his grandchildren, James Colton, Charlotte, Trace, Paisley, Carter, Reese, Tucker and Sawyer; his siblings, Beth (Ralph Fylstra) of Allendale, NJ, Jodie (John Woudenberg) of Whitinsville, MA and Kimberly (Rich Sytsema) of Sussex, NJ; his siblings-in-law, Mary Westra, Michael, Sandra Westra, John and Kristin Westra; his parents-in-law, Donald Sr. and Judy Westra; and his brother-in-law Donald Westra Jr..
