He was predeceased by : his parents, Miguel Montoya and Catarina Sainz Montoya; his wife Christina Flores Montoya; and his siblings, Adelina Varela, Amanda Lucero, Josephine Cates, Calina Martinez, Miguel Montoya Jr. and Manuel Montoya. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and grand and great grand nephews and nieces.
