He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wright and Ila Zelda Champion; his sister Jo Gillet; and his son Emmitt Eugene, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Penelope Jean Lee; and his sons, Jonathan and Galen (Meredith). He is also survived by six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
