John Lassiter Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Lassiter in Alamogordo, New Mexico, who passed away on September 28, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, John is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that John's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Herbert Lassiter Sr. and Lelia Beatrice Lassiter; and his siblings, Mary Lizzie Richardson, Jimmie Lassiter and David Lassiter.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Lassiter; his children, John H Lassiter III, Jacqueline Willett and Demetra Biglow; his sister Lella Baxter; and his brother-in-law James Justin Baxter. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister and brothers-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Holy Temple Church of God (200 Virginia Ave, Alamogordo, NM 88310). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ (200 Virginia Ave, Alamogordo, NM 88310). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
