He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Tillman, Terri Smith and Ernesto C Garcia. He is survived by : his parents, Mark Vega and Natalia Vega; his sons, Matthew Jr. and Levi Vega; his sister Brittany Vega; his nephews, Michael and Elijah; his grandmother Guadalupe Garcia; the mother of his children Paola Vega; and his uncle Ernesto C Garcia Jr.. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (705 Delaware Ave, Alamogordo, NM 88310). A rosary was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
