He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Furphy and Marie Furphy (Novak); his in-laws, Riley and Ruby Hardin; and his stepchildren, James and Lana Fults.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Furphy; his siblings, Sue Brown, Kathy Allison (Rick), Chris, Theresa and David; Kyle Cross. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
