She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Carkhuff and Naomi Webb; her in-laws, Charlie and Grace Austin; her siblings, Dale McGruder, Linda Allen (Gary) and Perry McGruder (Lilace); her nieces, Phyllis Jean Allen, Patricia Langstaff and Michelle McGruder; her nephew Nathan Langstaff; and her dachshund Brindy.
She is survived by: her husband Bert Austin of Boles Acres, NM; her siblings, Mike McGruder (Stella) and Mary McGruder; her children, Jeffrey Austin (Michelle) of Fruita, CO, Debra Austin (Scott Cosgray) of Alamogordo, NM, Amanda Paz (Mario) of Rio Rancho, NM and Scott Austin (Becky) of Boles Acres, NM.; her grandchildren, Dustin Flores (Samantha), Roxanne Paz (Steven Calzada), Cortney Leal (Matthew), Heather Enger (Jacob), Amy Austin, Emily Paz, Kaylee Paz, Hannah Sewell (Dalton), Ian Paz and Chasen Austin; and her great grandchildren, Madisen Flores, Julieanna Leal, Nash Flores, Riley Enger, Elias Enger, Lucas Calzada and Carson Leal. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Alamogordo Funeral Home (2301 E 1st St, Alamogordo, NM 88310). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at the Boles Acres Cemetery.
