Anthony Duran Obituary

Anthony Alex Duran, age 31, beloved father, fiancé, son and brother, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. Anthony enjoyed playing football, soccer, camping, hunting and the outdoors; and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Arsenio Duran; maternal great-grandparents, Felipita and Pablo Lucero; maternal grandmother, Mary Duran.

Anthony is survived by his precious children, Jacob, Mia, and Alex Duran; the love of his life, Felicia Lucero; his father, Anthony Duran and wife Jeanne; his mother, Elizabeth Duran; his siblings, Sarina, Andrea, and Dominique Duran, Desaray Valdez, Isaiah Baca. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Valentina Duran; and numerous loving relatives and friends.

Anthony will be greatly missed by his family and by those whose lives he touched. Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 301 Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will take place at the Placitas Catholic Cemetery in Placitas, NM. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Duran, Isaiah Trujillo, Miguel Duran, Issiah Paisano, Geno Chavez, and Victor Chavez. Honorary Bearer will be Arthur Lucero.

Sarina Duran Arends wrote a sympathy message

“My brother and I were more than siblings. We shared most of our lives experiences. We took turns living with each other over the years just to be near each other. When we were growing up we had so much fun together, fishing, going to school, cooking and eating. He loved cooking so much when he wasn't working hard at construction jobs. We brought children into our lives and Anthony was a favorite Uncle to my daughter Dedre. I was the Auntie who loved to take Anthony's children home for a weekend. Anthony's fiancé Felisha was my close friend before they were in love with each other. He would tell others, "Many times growing up all we had was each other!" I am taking each moment of time remembering the older brother who held his little sisters hand when I could barely walk. These days since he went on to be with the Lord Jesus his hand seems to be around each step I take. I know he comes down to see me when he does the work of Jesus in my life today. His eternal life with Jesus will be filled with humble things he will do for me and others as the Lord blesses us with my great brother of faith. I love you Anthony your Sister Sarina Duran Arends”
