He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Lavender and Virginia Lavender; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his son Aaron (Amy); his grandchildren, Hugo and Octavia; his brother Brian (Deborah); his sister-in-law Karen; and his nieces and nephews, Kerri (Vernon), Michael (Leslie), Alexandra, Daniel, Deanna (Bill), Damian and Grace.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad in honor of Gary Lavender.
