He was predeceased by : his parents, Laureano Cordova and Manuelita Cordova; his brothers, Acorsiño Cordova (Wilma) and Leroy Cordova; and his son John Romero.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Cordova; his brothers, Clarence Cordova (Irene) and Gustavo Cordova (Diane); his sister-in-law Ruth Cordova; his children, Gilbert Candelaria, Susan Candelaria and Carla Candelaria-Roybal; his grandchildren, Monique Candelaria, Joseph Candelaria (Ashley), Daniel Candelaria, Santiago Roybal and Estevan Roybal; and his great grandchildren, Griffyn Roybal, Fenix Roybal, Malani Candelaria, Angelo Candelaria and Ariana Candelaria.

Joe was such an inspiration and a bright light to all that crossed his path. Words cannot begin to express my sadness when you called to tell me of his passing.
