He was predeceased by: his former wife Vera Garcia; his parents, Frutoso Garcia and Magdalena Gallegos Garcia; and his daughters, Sally Montoya and Mary Diana Garcia.
He is survived by: his wife Cursillo; his children, Ruth V. Hambright, Michael R. Garcia (Veronica), Peggy Saavedra (Juan "Johnny"), Debra D. Estrada (Dan), Jose F. Garcia (JoAnn), Agnes F. "Aggie" Ornelas (Erick), Geraldine Vallejos (Les) and Camille Jaramillo (Tommy Trujillo); his son-in-law Henry Montoya Sr.; his brother Jerry Garcia (Frances); and his sisters-in-law, Elia McComie and Esther Morales. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church (400 E High St, Grants, NM 87020). A rosary will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
