It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lawrence B. Ortega of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his fiancée Paulette Hearne; his mother Eva L Cordova; his adoptive parents, Marion Ortega and Ruby Ortega; and his siblings, Filbert, Eloy Ortega, Cathy Chavez and Cleo Davis.
He is survived by: his siblings, Chuck Thomas, Abel Ortega (Gloria), Michael Ortega (Cheryl), Philip, Carlos Cordova, Wanda Harris (Jose), Joann Lujan (Sam) and Loretta Roybal (Adrian); his aunts, Stella Vialpando (Chenco) and Emma Torres; his godchildren, Kyle Ortega, Andrea Harvey and Sara Sierra; his friend Lawrence Sierra; and his niece Cynthia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
