Mary E (Young) Granado Obituary

Mary Elaine Granado (née Young) passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the age of 83 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is reunited with her parents, George Young and Adelina Pope; brothers, George and William Young; and sons, William Paul and Augustine Nicholas Granado.

Mary is survived by her brother, Jon C Young; sister, Gloria Speck; son Reyes Granado, daughter n law Cynthia and daughter, Raquel Granado Santistevan; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a talented artist whose paintings and sculptures were featured in many County Art Shows across New Mexico, where she won a number of ribbons for her work. Known best for her storyteller dolls, landscape paintings, and painted garden rocks, Mary lives on through the art that she passed down to her family. She was a witty and humorous woman, quick to tell a joke even in times of stress which always brought levity to any situation. She was a lover of movies, music, and was a big fan of Neil Diamond and Rod Stewart.

Mary devoted her professional life to service of others and worked in cosmetology as a licensed beautician and instructor, in childcare, and in home healthcare.

Mary’s life will be celebrated in the spring at her home in Cimarron, New Mexico.
