We are sad to announce that, on August 6, 2025, MaryLou Chapela of Albuquerque, New Mexico, born in Gallup, New Mexico passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chapela and Juanita Chapela; her brother John Chapela Jr.; her grandson Jason Armijo; her niece Marion Chavez; her great-nephew Brandon Polar; and her great-niece Nicole Chavez.
She is survived by: her daughter Shannon Garcia (Jose); her grandchildren, Eric Yellowhorse (Cortney), Jessie Garcia (Melissa), Stevie Rae Yellowhorse, Jodi Gutierrez (Jake), Gage Yellowhorse Polar and Dominique Montoya; and her siblings, Gillis Chapela, Yvonne Martinez (Sigfredo) and Charlotte Chapela. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
